Our group project made it to the finals of the Dual-SMU Technology and World Change Competition!
It's an innovation business plan and we came up with this smart shopping system whereby we incorporated the ERP system to retail checkout counters so that queues can be eliminated.
I am really happy about it since it was a project which I put in alot of effort and it was with a not-very-committed-so-I-bobian-have-to-end-up-doing-everything group. I mean seriously, the project was really done by only two people if I am being totally honest here.
But I guess it there's any consolation, it was that the report flowed more smoothly. *chuckles*
But as to winning the competition, I think we stand next to zero chance since firstly, my friend and I only had one day to alter the project to change it from our original technology innovation paper to a financially detailed business plan proposal. (which explains the many typo errors)
Secondly and most importanly, we didn't even turn up for the presentation to the deans and professors last week as I had two mid-term papers. =)
There goes my only chance to win any prizes in SMU i guess.
But oh well, here's the link to the lu4 wei2 ming2 dan1 for this year.
(Anyway, just a funny story to share: The diagram which you see in the website is quite amateurish and last-minute because I initially had great plans for my art-elective friends from JC to help me draw an artist impression of the shopping system. I couldn't reach Maxine so I asked Sujuan. Two days later, instead of a professional art piece, she drew me a manga-rish drawing which looked like some Hello Kitty counter which I was too embarrassed to even show to any of my group mates.
Wish I still have it to post it online though. haha...
