Been asked for the 3002340953th time if im attached or not... Why do frens whom i haf not met up with for months ask me that every time they see me and upon hearing my reply they seem to look at me with benign pity.. haha.. Does having a girlfren equates to success as compared to those single?? Does not having a girlfren makes me less a man or a loser?? I dont think so.

Finding the perfect partner is abit like a game of blackjack. You get your cards and u make ur decisions. Its easy to get the sixteens and seventeens. But what's next? Do you play safe and settle for a 18? Or do you go all out for a perfect 21, even if you might end up bust.

I'm looking for a 21.

(PS: To all my frens, next time u see me, dont ask if im attached, I will print it in the newspapers if i get a gf. Or maybe telecast it on the news. =)

Watched my 2nd R(A) movie in a month... Im on a roll! haha.. But this time the usher did ask for my identification. It must have been John's fault. He told me to act serious and not smile at all. ( 'Just act serious den they wont check for ur ID . Trust me- John Guk.). Yup, trust you. In the end, of all the movie goers entering the hall, we were the only ones dat the usher asked IDs from... .. Not that it will really affect John, since hes already 21 plus.. but im still 4months short... Gosh, what shd i do?? cld only think of 3 options:

1) Head-butt the uncle and walk in nonchalently.
2) Do a sultry pout and bat my eyelids seductively.
3) Just hope for the best.

In the end, option 3 seems the more sensible choice and i slowly passed him my id and looked away. The uncle stared hard at my id. Looking back at him, option 1 seems to be the better choice now. 'Do it!' i thought.'hes looking downwards and im 1/2 head taller den him. Do it!' Then he looked up..... I went for Option 2 .... I smiled at him. He smiled at me..Simple as that. I was in! Yay!

And thank GOd i was able to catch this show. KilL BiLL ROCKS! haha... i've been like gushing abt this movie to almost everyone i see... What glorious, cinematic pulp it is... And Lucy Liu is like wow, super chio in a kimono. *salivating* and for some strange perverse reason, Uma Thurman in a blood-soaked yellow track suit is such a turn-on... ha.. Go catch it!

And today seems to be celebrity outing day too... Saw Celeste Chong at far east.. and alan tern, priscelia and the ch8 9pm jim gang at Lido.

Looking tru the profiles of some of my friends in Friendster, im pretty puzzled as to what 'SATC" stood for. Many girls seem to name SATC as their fav. TV show..

What in the blue hell does SATC stand for????
An educational channel about SATs ? Prob. not, unsless Josh Harnett or Orlando Bloom are on it or something. Anyway, finally got enlightened when a friend ( Jasmine) provided the answer for me. ( 'Kenny Loh, you are hopelessly stupid leh. SATC is Sex and the City silly! --jas )

Rite!!! How am i supposed to know?? The world is full of acronyms man.... How wld u like it if i came up with my own acronyms?? Perhaps i shd put my fav. tv show as 'WCWCWCCC', which will actually stand for Jacky Wu's Wo cai , wo cai, wo cai cai cai......'
*bleah* And to u Jas, FUSB!!!! @@ ahha.... Go figure it out ! Chill! )

Assigned to do sentry with Satriyo at Prowl Delta. Sentry is probably the least tiring duty but its also the most boring.. ASOLUTELY BOOOORING!.. They just dump 2 guys at one tiny hut in the edges of one part of jurong island for 8 hrs... they dont allow you to bring reading materials, no gameboys, no HPs. Just me and him. The 2 of us. And my trusty radio... Wat do they expect us to do there??? Sit there and look at the barren sea for 8 hrs? Waiting for some unfortunate illegal immigrant who has lost his way and ended up swimming to the shore of jurong island?Do i shoot him ?

I ended up talking to satriyo for hours... Boys talk.. haha.. I think after this duty, i knew more about him den any of his family members... He told me of his 'glorious days' as Singapore's youth player who was a ball picker of the 1994 Malaysia Cup Final ( the one where singapore beat kedah 4-0.. where Abbas Saad kelong... remember? ).... his days where Fandi taught him soccer tricks..... But theres only so much that guys can talk about.. We ended up looking at the night sky, taking turns to fart and burp.. Good times!

He ended up falling asleep first, losing out to the zzz monster. Me , sgt kenny, being the caring commander i am, let him sleep on... I just sat there by myself, looking at the clear night sky... How can i kill time?? there was still 4 hrs... I played the clench-every-muscle-in-your-body-one-at-a-time game, the sing-with-abandon-along-to-the-radio game, and finally, the passing-out game.

I have succumbed to the zzz monster too... Ended up sleeping for 1 1/2 hrs... Phew thank goodness nobody came to do a spot check!

I was pretty surprised when i found out that one my men brought a laptop to camp toady.

"why did you bring a laptop here? Play game ah? haha'
'No lah. For my handphone business .'
'Your dad owns a shop ah?'
"nope. I co-own 7 shops.'

I gave him my Bewildered Face -- which is a slight variation of my Blank Face. This is insane man.. And he's not the only super achiever... Another of my man is a chef and because of NS, he gave up his $3000 a month job to earn $300 as a NS man... Incredible.... And these people are the supposed pests of society, with juz N-level educational level.

Get an education, your parenst said. ( 'Ah boy, you will grow up to become a road sweeper if u dun study' Muz study hard go university! --my mum, 1992) . Enter a profession ( 'Go study triple science, den can become doctor or lawyer.' -- my mum, 1995 ). Slog your guts out ('Do finish the RGS abd Chinese High paper den can go and sleep!' --my mum, 1997 ). Die of a stress-related heart attack before youre 50. Make something of yourself. And never forget that education and money shows success.... My men's hp shops and chef jobs proved otherwise...

WE HAVE BEEN HAD!!!
If money is proof of success, then these people are winning!!

Played soccer at the Marine Parade street soccer court with the Arts guys. Surprisingly little ppl in the afternoon and thus we ended up playing soccer with this young group of chinese lads. Prob. 14 yrs old, everyone of them were at least a head shorter den me and looked pretty fragile and geeky... What a waste of time it wld be for me to play with them...

But i was very wrong... They were all over the place. This little kid, wearing a liverpool jersey came running towards me with the ball. He twists, he fakes to the left, shimmer to the right, does a quick sidestep, does a 180degress turn , I turned, i lost my footing, i tumble, i fall. Humbled.

Who the heck were these ppl?? Chinese version of the Christiano Ronaldos, Michael Owens and Wayne Rooneys of the East Coast? i made a mental note not to play with these insanely talented kids anymore.

Dear God,
So far today,
I've done all right.
I haven't gossiped.
I haven't lost my temper.
I haven't been greedy, grumpy,
nasty, selfish or overindulgent.
I'm very thankful for that.

But in a few minutes, God,
I'm going to get out of bed;
and from then on, I'm probably
going to need a lot more help.
Amen

The start of my one month POI ( Potection of Installations ) at Jurong Island. We were actually considered to do it at Changi Airport as well but apparently my CO feels dat we are unrefined and that there wld be a high chance dat we wld end up harrassing the female tourists there. And i cld not agree more with him... haha.. .. Any way, on the first day of work there, i have already seen 2 of my men chatting with this malay cisco lady.. prob. our age as well.. And as it turns out, shes quite a fox really. She asked me my age and i told her mine. Out of courtesy i asked her hers too... And she promptly struts out her chest proudly and points her finger to her left breast pocket, where her name tag was. Gosh. I was dead embarrased. If it had been possible for the earth to haf opened up and swallowed me in my entirety, there wld have been nothing that cld have made me happier. The sight of a male military personnel looking at the stuck out buxom of a cisco lady must have been extremely disturbing to onlookers i supposed.

Today marks the first ever R(A) movie which i haf watched in a cinema.... At the grand old age of 20 yrs 7 months!! haha.. Watched it at Shaw Beach Rd with alex, pierre, justin, zhenghao and mash. Since Mash looks 45 ( k, im exaggerating alittle.. haha ), he bought the tickets for us. I haven seen any of the movie's posters or reviews but they told me dat it was a pretty acclamied arts film... But judging by the rather provocative title (' Dirty Pretty Things'), I kinda presumed that it wld be a 'dirty' film abt a guy and 2 'pretty' gals, prefably bi-sexual , in a steamy hot bath... ( ha, prob. just my own perverse fantasy... ).. Anyway, the movie was not wat i had intially tot it wld be.. the opening credits displayed BBC as the movie's distributor... ( damn, wat a way to watch ur first RA movie.. A BBC movie.. )
Anyawy, Dirty Pretty Things was a very enjoyable movie... No sex romps of cos.. its actually the sort of film that requires your full attention, and then amply rewards you with a wealth of nuances. And Audrey Tautou, of Amelie, was outstanding.. looking so vulnerable and curious . Good stuff!
