Boring. Boring. Borriiinggg!!

Blah. Been doing standby duties for the past few days.. haha. Days passed by resembling more of a plodding horse than a bullet train man.. Lackluste, sluggish, mostly *BORED*

The end of National Service is about 2 months away and all tasks and conversations at camp have "imminent ORD" stemmed on them. Hee hee. =)

Nobody seems to be in the mood to do anything. Honestly speaking, I think most of us are merely PRETENDING to work until we can legitimately stop working and leave the army to embrace the coverted university life of "drugs, sex and rock and roll"( as Pierre my buddy puts it.. *Rolls eyes* lol.

Well, 65 more days to the end of this amazing, if sometime traumatic, life-transforming, and occasionally fucked-up roller coaster ride which I unknowingly embarked upon 2-1/2 yrs ago.

Tick tock. Tick tock. ORD loh!

Never EVER underestimate the heart of a Champion...

The twenty-third of May. Finally some silverwear in a pretty disastrous season! Beloved Man Utd beating Millwall 3-0 in a pretty dull FA Cup Final.

Christiano Ronaldo was fantastic though. ( He's like two yrs younger than me but yet light years ahead in terms of skills and fame... Arggh. Life's unfair eh? .. haha ). He tortured the poor Millwall defence with a mesmerising display of wing wizardry that the opponents cldn't handle. And it was pretty surprising that he didn't get the man of the match award.

I thought it was a pretty nice gesture to see the likes of Solskjaer and Butt coming on late in the game. Especially for Butt, whom i think would be leaving the club in the summer. Hmmm.. Probably in the best interest of everybody i guess since the only thing consistent about his performance this season is that they have all been below par.. ( Sorry for sounding so Simon Cowell-ish.. haha. Been watching too much AMERICAN IDOL..)

Glory Glory Man Utd!

Linkin Park or the Black Eyed Peas???

Hmmm, been contemplating which concert to go to. Two great acts coming to Singapore, one pure rock and the other RnB... but only enough money to go to one....*sigh*

LINKIN PARK:
Their songs are the easiest to sing along to! haha. Even for those who are mono-and-abit-tonous like me, you can't go possibly go off-tune singing their songs. JUST SCREAM.

BLACK EYED PEAS:
They are really unlike so many of other RnB stars and supposed hard men rappers you get on MTV-- Emimem, 50cent and all the rest of them who bang on in their songs about being funky mean cop killers, then cry like fucking babies when they get 4 months for drink driving or exposing themselves in public..Black Eyed Peas are pretty wholesome in comparison huh? lol. And their songs are actually pretty cool!

Hmmm.. *still can't make up my mind as to which concert to go to.*

Had a fun time at Palawan Beach today. It was pretty crowded for a Friday afternoon and i thought the beach was populated by many funny sights today.. A few hip-hoppin' malays were trying to surfboarding on our hopelessly wave-less waters, a chubby old Eurasian man singing the blues really loudly ( and horribly off-keyed), a few muscular guys who'd make the Incredible Hulk think about taking steroids and a couple of hot bikini gals with new breasts ( no kidding!! they were *huge* haha).

We swamed, played volleyball(we sucked), chilled out, and it struck me that what gives this place the vibrancy is that its a place where we humankind and creed can RELAX with no worries for the simple reason that we are far away from the hectic urban lives of the city. Look at all their faces. Beaming.

Because in this small sanctuary, the beach is white, the sea is blue and the two together is *gorgeous*.

Jasmine is a lucky B*tch!

Wow. How did LaToya get kicked out and Jasmine stayed on instead???

My guess is that Jasmine got a HELL LOT of male votes. Not surprisingly really since she's like REALLY hot. *lol*

Did I ever mention that I thought she looked really good in jeans? Hmmm, there isn't anything more aesthetically pleasing than lip smackingly sweet buns in a pair of tight 501s is there?

*wipes off saliva from mouth*

Can't blame us lah.

God gave us a brain and a penis, but only enough blood to run one at a time.

*dilemma*

The Da Vinci Code

Have you heard of the Da Vinci Code written by Dan BrowN?

Well, in the event you've been living in a cave, been busy mugging for exams, or simply floating on a raft somewhere in the Pacific Ocean as part of a farsighted experiment testing man's ability to thrive once denied new episodes of Friends, then u are missing up on a damn good conspiracy thriller.

I read it while I was in Taiwan and it left a lasting impression on me. I guess it touches on enough strands of popular speculation and mythology to captivate readers and because simply put, Everybody loves a conspiracy.

Dan Brown introduced many theories in this book such as the secret behind Mona Lisa's smile, the Holy Grail and the divine and marital status of Jesus. I was thoroughly impressed and i've got to say that dan brown made symbology cool the way Indiana Jones did for archaelogy.

But a book containing controversial topics regarding Jesus (perhaps the most enigmatic and inspirational leader the world has ever seen), is bound to receive some form of backlash from the Christian community.

And there are already quite afew books to de-bunk the Da Vinci Code. Which i though was actually pretty amusing and exaggerating. Accept the fact that people can read something for enjoyment and not mistake fiction for fact.

Dan Brown wrote a book. Not a Bible. Get a life.

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead than you will be saved"

We humans just love to make things complicated though.

(the 00a53 guys and the 2 b'day gals)

Another 21st Birthday Party

I have learnt my lesson and i arrived late so I wasn't The Only Person There this time round. Ha ha.

It was a pretty fun barbecue gathering at Pebble Bay Condo. The 2 birthday gals looked fabulous and I spent most of my time engaging in some shameless salacious bitching session with the class gals.

Left the party early to meet up with the Arts guys and hanged around in town before ending up at some pub watching Liverpool rip Biringham apart.

Impressive. I mean, I have never been so excited by a Liverpool performance!

Hahahahaha... *sorry* . Don't mean to be rude but seriously, for some warped deranged reason, Liverpool ( which plays some of the most boring football u will EVER see) decided to go continental and played sleek football today.

The players were banging inch perfect passes all over the pitch and when Heskey ( whom i think should be auctioned off on Ebay together with Diego Forlan ) scored, my suspicion that this was a world gone mad was confirmed.

( erhmm, the 3 ah lians! haha )

One thing which i have learnt today is that when you are invited to a party/barbecue/outing/etc., you should NEVER arrive at the stated time because, if you do, for a long while You Will Be The Only Person There.

Well, it happened to me at Benny's surprise birthday barbecue at East Coast Park today. According to the "Event-Coordinator" ( John by the way ), he told everybody to "come at 6.15pm and NO LATER than 6.45pm".

And i arrived at 6.45pm to discover that i was the second person there. ( and just for your information, i didn't even know the first person! Abso-fuckin'-lutely brilliant!)

Argh. That said, i thought Benny's girlfriend was really sweet to have gone through all the trouble to arrange the barbecue, getting his friends from pri. sch to JC, frends from the army, and blah blah.. .. and she even litted candles around the barbecue pit! haha. But what's with those candles? Mood lighting?? hiak. I guess it's SUPPOSED to have a soporific effect but it just felt really stuffy lah.

But i still had a pretty fun time chatting there. The place was cosy (or at least it was very hot) and i thought the atmoshphere was good. Definitely much more fun than you could ever have if we had celebrated it at some terribly fancy-shmancy restaurant.

The Bride Returns!

Okay. Personally, I actually prefered the first movie over the second. Not because it's much less kinetic, but because the movie doesn't seem to flow smoothly, as it lurches from chapter to chapter, giving screen time to characters who just aren't as intriguing as Lucy Liu's Oren Ishii and that really kawaii Japanese gal from the first installment.

And yes, I agree that Kill Bill 2 is supposed to more wordplay than swordplay as it concludes the sage of the bride, but really, there's a tad excessive dialogue in the movie for my liking.

BUT Kill Bill 2 is still a stylish movie with kick-ass cinematography though. And Uma Thurman is just fantastic lah. It's in this movie that she really showed off her full range of emotions, as compared to the other heroine characters who have no substance. (Think Tomb Raider and erhm.. Pamela Anderson in V.I.P? )

And special mention must be given to Gordon Liu's Pai Mei's character. He was freaking hilarious as the no-nonsense, grumpy kung-fu master. And did anyone count the number of times he flipped his beard??? haha. It's like damn numerically ridiculous.

Overall, Kill Bill is essentially a profoundly silly, profoundly crazy, and yet a very very profoundly entertaining movie. Gotta hand it to Tarantino for producng such a masterpiece man. *kowtows*

Back Finally!!

*drum rolls* ta da dum..... A new template for the summer!

Its about time my blog gets a make-over eh? haha. Have got to give it some zest. Give it some pep. Some sex appeal.

K. Was only kidding about the last part.

Anyway, it feels great to be home. We did okay for our ATEC assesment. Not fastastic, but OKAY. Perhaps we were tired from the two major exercises which we were doing. Bad weather. Hot days. Freezing cold nights.

There were times when each day seemed to last 2 weeks.

But those 3 days we spent holiday-ing at kao siong was awesome to say the least. Don't hours fly when you're having fun?? haha. Those neon street lights, friendly taiwanese people, the buzzling nightlife, the inevitable alcoholic numbness that we felt during those 2 nights where we sneaked out of our hotels to patronise the nightclubs there and drank away our senses one by one until we were truly senseless. haha.

But the shopping districts there were much smaller though, as compared to those in Taipei. By the last day, we were basically walking aimlessly into every store. It was like wishing you were hungry so you could satisfy the craving, but what food would you want? Not chocolate, not booze, not salty or sweet, not cheesy, not ice-cream, not chips. I've already bought those on the first day! ( hmm, k k, bad analogy, but yeah, cldn't think of any others, so oh well.=) )

The traffic there is still horrible though. Cars zooming in from all directions, which kinda made the road signs and rules( if they have any to begin with ) pretty much redundant.

Which also reminded me of quote which i had heard from my driving instructor once.

"Man who drive like hell are bound to get there."
