Did you guys know that the new season of the OC is available on the net? Well, I din't know that till Thursday and since then, I have downloaded (illegally), 5 episodes of the new OC and woah, I really love the new season of the show.
It's quite weird to hear/read a guy ranting on about how much he loves watching a show like the OC right? I feel strange writing it too but hey, considering the large influx of crappy "reality" shows hitting our TV screens in recent years, I think it's not too wrong to say that the OC is a pretty sophisticated and smart television program? In fact, the OC is a soap opera for the teenagers ( or the young at hearts ).
The show isn't just about ridiculously good-looking people living in ridiculously beautiful houses. Okay, maybe partly it is. BUT the OC has a killer script that matches their looks. The show is layered, nuanced, balanced, snazzy, ironic and touching all at once. And all of the primary actors are exquisite in their roles, each of them (esp. the older actors) so subtle and simple and complex all at once.
I find the 2nd season to be edgier and even more compelling to watch. In comparison, the first season seems like a boring introduction of the core characters. The 2nd season is where the REAL fun/troubles begin. For starters, 4 more ridiculously good looking people are added to the show and everyone seems to move on and each of them hooks up with someone new. ...
( Okay, I shall be a nice person and not reveal any spoilers if you are planning to catch it. )

Anyway, and to a really dear friend who seems to be having relationship problems lately, you should do the same thing too. ( OKAY, now I'm really starting to feel uncomfortable. I mean, I feel like some gay version of Sarah Jessica Parker sitting down and typing about love on his laptop when in the first place, I'm kinda like the last person on earth to be dissing out love advice right??? )
haha. Oh well, fuck it, shall just give my 2 cents worth la ya. Hmmmm.. how shall I start.. haha.
Okay okay. Love is... like hunting for fireflies. Capture your firefly, keep it tight in your hand, and never let it go. You can chase it forever, and ever and ever, looking for the thing that you din't think you wanted when it wanted you and then, by the time you realize you do, its well.... hasta la vista.
(To be honest, I don't blame anyone who has no idea what the hell I'm talking about because I'm kinda feeling the same way too..haha.) BUT my point is... if in the case the firefly has flown away... It's quite pointless to think about it or worse still, go around looking for it. It will probably be fruitless and you will just end up looking silly...
Be like the Seths and Summers in the OC and move on!!
p/s: I think Mischa Barton is the next Gwyneth Paltrow. And just like Gwyneth, whom i have never really liked, i can still understand why she'd be a mega movie star and fashion icon. Mischa Barton has that same kind of quality, a sort of otherworldliness, as if she is drifting through life in a different dimension than the rest of us. She's so different.
