My blog's still alive ya..haha but ya, Im still overwhelmed with projects (4 to be exact) and school work. All these assignments... (Pause for sob).. (pause for vacant gaze into the sky)... (close up on stray tear making its lonely way down my cheek).. heh.
For the past 2 years plus while I was in the army, I dreamt about going to uni. every single night. Now that Im finally here, I kinda realize that army wasn't that bad after all! haha...
"University is like a gorgeous virgin. You have got to try really hard to get in and 9 months later, you wished you had never come."
Wise words indeed! haha... I have been spending my nights away settling projects and presentation in school and to digress alittle, I must say that my school library is like ultra-cool. 15 minutes before they shut down the library, the every-so-sweet-and-frendly librarians will start playing rock songs on the PA system.. Imagine hearing Semisonic's Closing Time blasting away in our ears just as we were halfway done with our work?
They have such a sense of humor.
But then again, maybe Im so busy because i joined quite afew CCAs. Besides Christian fellowship and windsurfing, Im also contemplating joining Samba Masala, some Brazilian salsa percussion group.. haha.. Maybe joining so many activites isn't so advisable but Im thinking that although getting a degree is important, having a balanced university lifestyle is vital too! Fun and work!
Anyway, still feeling high after watching Acapella Express at the Esplanade today. They are this Russian vocal group which won best acapella jazz group at some international awards and obviously they were like so damn good!!
Granted their english wasn't good and they weren't familiar with our Singaporean culture, they still manage to entertain and wow-ed us with their showmanship. There was this segment where they got the audience (us) to participate and it was really fun! I wanted to join in too but when I starting singing (so softly tt even patrina cldnt hear..ha), my words came out in this high-pitched voice like a primary school kid, so... and so i stopped... heh..=)
And speaking of Esplanade, I also did manage to check out the art gallery beside the recital studio on Wednesday. Went there with my OG fren Lilin and the gallery was like totally empty , even though it was freeee... Okay, to be honest, our original intention was to watch some free piano performance (me is cheapskate i noe) at the recital studio but its like super full-house (many cheap-skaters in singapore i realise.haha)..*dejected*.. so ya.haha.. we went to the art gallery instead!
But its actually quite sad to see that the art gallery was so empty. I mean if we Singaporeans dun support our own art scene, we can't expect organizations to provide funding for the arts rite??
Believe me, its not easy for me to stand here and defend the arts. Granted, Arts won't find a cure for disease nor can it patrol the streets and keep it safe... and personally, I think that 95% of what passes for art in this world is complete and utter shit. The other 4% is complete and utter shit with exclamation marks... But oh, that one percent makes you look in awe and beam with pride doesnt it??
Haha, and thank you if u all did bother to read all the way till this portion.. haha.. and to end off, lilin becomes the 927th person to say that I can't hold a conversation while driving.... Bleugh.. haha... Not true! We guys can multi-task k!
We can pee AND whistle at the same time!!
