Random Thoughts after a week at SMU (singapore management university)...

1: Projects projects projects...
The onslaught of work is never merciful. But 2 projects on the first day of school?!!! That's... brutal.. ha..

And the projects aren't those straightforward "places-of-interests-in-singapore" type of projects u do in sec. school. For uni. projects, you have to come up with a myraid of brilliant, zappy and zeitgeisty ideas.. You have to do video presentations, set up websites...

Quite stressful, esp. when all I know about html is "img=src" to insert pic.

2: Class participation: 20% overall grades
For one, you cannot afford to be a lie-back-and-watch-the-world-go-by sort of person in SMU. Bo bian have to read up before lessons so that you will have something INTELLECTUAL and INSIGHTFUL to contribute during lessons. haha. But i must stress that I really dislike those Super-zealous people who raise their arms at E-V-E-R-Y question , laughs at every joke that the prof. makes, or tries to make..

And okay, this is going to make me sound v.bitchy again, (haha), but there's this gal in my MGMT class that's just like that! Argh, such a turn-off. And oh, she's also the kind who scribbles furiously into her notepad although through my experience, people who scribbles down EVERYTHING usually don't have the first clue about what's really going on... *sniggers sniggers*.

And I'm glad I only see her for one lecture only. If she's in all my 5 classes, I swear I will go down Chinatown hunting for one of those sock puppet voodoo dolls and i dunno, staple her mouth or something.. hahaha.... (kiddin' arh!)

3: Some girls in SMU dress like they're going to Zouk even at an 8.30am class.
Haha, short skirts, sexaay pumps, hippy jeans, heavy make-up... I think one should be forgiven for mistaking SMU for a modelling agency.. haha

I mean, where do they find the time to doll themselves up and yet still make it to sch on time??? Line up their make-up like ammunition along the toilet sink 10mins before lesson starts??

Hiak... That would be so silly. .. BUT I'm not complaining arh!.. haha.. Im actually alright with it.. *hides big grin*... Albeit some unexpected nose-bleeds and more frequent asthma attacks, erhm such occurences are beneficial as this is actually also in line with the government's campaign of looking at something green or pleasant-to-the-eye after 45mins of cpu usage/studies. haha... It's true. In fact, for every 15 mins of listless staring at the powerpt slides, I make it a point to spend at least 45 mins looking at something pleasant. =)

After all, eye candies are chewing gum for the eyes... ( And its not banned in singapore!)

haha.. I'm horrible.. AND IM KIDDING BTW... I've been paying attention to ALL my lectures so far! REALLY!

4:There are more girls than boys in SMU. A lot more. =)

(haha.. The figures in the diagrams are accurate k.)

Barring factors such as superstar effect where the F4, Takeshi Kaneshiro lookalikes in the school will monopolise the female population(ie. one guy to many many many gals), and assuming that SMU is a closed economy where gals will not ever consider guys from outside the sch compound, and of course assuming that no girl will rather make a vow of lifelong celibacy than to go out with a guy, guys should have higher mkt values in SMU than in NUS and NTU! ...

(Sorry, been reading too much Case And Fair Principle of Economics for the past few hours... haha... I should pursue double degree in economics and business eh?)
