The Baybeats brochure promised a "wild weekend of pulsating power-packed rock numbers from the world's most beloved bands...."
Okay, seriously dude, who has ever heard of Buddhistson, Whence He Came, Supermarket Hero or Venus Butterfly???
haha. But I shall not be complaining since its a free 3-day outdoor gig and they did put up quite a brilliant show. Particularly good were Astreal (local electronic band.. kinda like Bjork and Love Psychedelico intermixed) and Last Days of April.
The latter band's first song was breathtaking. The Swede lead vocalist sang with such total devotion to the lyrics that you can feel the people in the crowd - even the Ah bengs, policemen and security personnel - all standing still for it.
Although I must add that the bassist did nearly screw it up with an over dramatic finish, but at the end, there's an echo and a silence that I didn't think the Esplanade arena has ever seen or felt before in the past 3 days.
Is Singapore really becoming more happening??? haha..
Okay, although my face clearly dominates half the picture while John's (aka Eye Candy)face occupies about 1/4 of it, I'm quite sure everyone's just looking at the guy in the red shirt.
haha. Did anyone notice that I'm also in the picture??
No??
